Copal resin comes from trees in the Buresa family.  It was sacred to the ancient Mayan and Aztec cultures, where it was burned as an offering to their gods and found in burial mounds to honor their dead.  It's light, slightly lemon-like fragrance infuses an area with calming vibrations and is lovely when used to cleanse and prepare ritual space.
